Where creator income comes from
Relying on one income stream is the most common reason creator earnings stall. A subscription alone caps what your most engaged fans can spend with you. OmgFans gives you eight streams on one profile.
| Income stream | How it works |
|---|---|
| Subscriptions | Fans pay monthly at your price, from $4.99 to $49.99, with optional 3 and 6 month bundles |
| Pay-per-view posts | Fans unlock a single post at a price you set |
| Paid messages | You send content in DMs that fans unlock |
| Tips | Fans tip on posts, messages and live |
| Live tickets | Fans buy a ticket to a scheduled live show |
| Live tips | Fans tip during the show |
| Limited drops | A numbered edition with a countdown that sells out |
| Referral earnings | 5% of a referred creator's earnings for 12 months, paid from our fee |
If going live suits you, our guide to going live for paying fans covers ticket pricing and timing.
What you keep from each payment
OmgFans charges a flat 20% platform fee on every fan payment, from your first sale. You keep 80%. There are no introductory rates that change later. OnlyFans, Fansly and Fanfix also list 20%, while Patreon lists 8 to 12% by plan plus processing fees. Fees can change, so check each platform's current terms.
The difference that affects income most is not the fee. It is whether new fans can find you. On OmgFans fans browse Rising, Categories and Nearby, so part of your audience can come from inside the platform instead of only from your own socials. Our page on the OnlyFans alternative for creators explains discovery and boosts.
When the money reaches you
- Earnings are held for 7 days, then become available.
- The minimum payout is $50.
- Payouts go out weekly.
- You choose bank transfer or crypto (USDT or USDC).
- Tax forms are collected in your creator dashboard.
You must pass age and ID verification before posting paid content and before your first payout.
A hypothetical worked example
This is an illustration, not a forecast. Say you have 150 subscribers paying $9.99 a month.
- Subscription revenue is 150 x $9.99 = $1,498.50 gross.
- After the 20% fee you keep $1,498.50 x 0.8 = $1,198.80.
- Add your own pay-per-view sales, paid messages and tips. Multiply that total by 0.8 as well.
- Add live tickets and drops for the months you run them.
Plug your real numbers into the creator earnings calculator to see the result for your prices. We do not promise any income, and most new creators start well below a number like 150 subscribers.
Habits that tend to move the numbers
- Post on a steady schedule. Fans renew when they expect something new each week.
- Price your subscription for your niche, then use bundles to reward fans who commit for 3 or 6 months.
- Keep some content behind pay-per-view so your biggest fans have something extra to buy.
- Answer messages. Many creators find that DMs are where tips and paid messages happen.
- Use trial links or promo codes when you bring fans over from other platforms.
- Run a drop or a live show occasionally rather than every day, so each one feels like an event.
Plans are optional. You can earn with no plan. Pro adds a scheduler, fan CRM with top spenders and expiring subs, and 2 boosts a month. Studio adds welcome and win-back message flows plus the drop builder. See creator plans and pricing when you are ready.
